About Pedro

A Spanish women’s football coach and sporting director, with university degrees in Business & Sport Management and Sports Science, Pedro Martínez Losa has built up over 20 years’ coaching experience. Particularly adept at raising the level of professionalism wherever he has worked, the current Scotland WNT manager has coached many of the world’s top players – including Carli Lloyd, Abby Wambach, Heather O’Reilly, Vicky Losada, Asisat Oshoala, McCall Zerboni, Sam Kerr, Khadija Shaw and Caroline Weir.

A winner of major trophies at Western New York Flash, Rayo Vallecano Femenino and Arsenal WFC, UEFA Pro Licence holder Martínez Losa also laid the foundations for the latter’s recent success by signing the likes of Dominique Bloodworth, Sari van Veenendaal, Katie McCabe, Daniëlle van de Donk, Kim Little, Beth Mead and Vivianne Miedema.

During his time in charge of French club Girondins de Bordeaux, Martínez Losa led them to a historic 3rdplace finish in his first season (19/20) and repeated this achievement in 20/21 – clinching the club’s first ever participation in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. Underlining his role in the team’s development, a record eight Bordeaux players were called up to the senior France squad.

The Scotland boss since summer 2021, a role he combines with the post of Head of Women’s Performance at the SFA, Martínez Losa has his sights set on guiding the team to a place at the UEFA Women’s EURO 2025.
